Serving Christ With A Broken Heart
|
Mark 12:30-31, And thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all
thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the
second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other
commandment greater than these.

Psalms 61:3-4, “For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.” |
1st Peter 5:7-8, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” “Our trouble is we love only those who appeal to our senses!” —Pastor Jack Hyles, MP3, “WHO CARES ANYWAY?” (awesome). There's no need to worry, fret and be upset!!! —Pastor Jack Hyles, “Put Your Head On A Pillow And Rest” (a beautiful MP3 sermon). Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” James 5:13, “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray...” Jesus told Peter that He prays for Him. The Lord asked in turn that Peter help to strengthen weaker believers. One of the big reasons for my online ministry is to strengthen my fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ... Luke 22:32, “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Psalms 142:4, “I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.”

Remembereth “Make-A-Statement” I heard a woman say that she wanted her clothing designer to make her clothes that “Make-A-Statement.” That's exactly why the Bible teaches that women should dress in MODEST apparel (1st Timothy 2:9). The Greek word for modest means “Of Good Behaviors.” “Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last. And when I am dying, how happy I’ll be, If the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee.” —Charles T. Studd (1860-1931)
Being
Offended That which does not KILL US us makes us weaker! ... 2nd Corinthians 12:9-10, “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” Unshakable faith comes from having your faith shaken!!! “Happiness is not a destination you arrive at, but it's a matter of travel.” —Mrs. Beverly Hyles Stop remembering what you should be forgetting, and start forgetting what you shouldn't be remembering. When David went out to fight against Goliath, he remembered the lion, the bear and tiger that he had killed. David didn't think about his bullying brothers or his problems at home, nor his small stature or his smallest stature in his village and home. If you'll dwell on your victories instead of your disappointments, you'll see your life go to a whole new level. Dwell on the great things that God has done, instead of the failures and things you've lost because of sin. THANK GOD for His blessings!!! Satan wants to get us focused on our faults, sins and failures to keep us from accomplishing things for God. The Hardest Person To Forgive Is Yourself! Hebrews 10:22, “Let us draw near [near to our High Priest, Jesus] with a true heart in full assurance of faith [knowing that God keeps His promises], having our hearts sprinkled [Jesus' literal blood sprinkled on the heavenly Mercy Seat has washed all our sins away] from an evil conscience [so when you feel guilt over past sins, think about the blood sprinkled on the Mercy Seat], and our bodies washed with pure water.” 1st John 1:7, “...and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
Listen To Preaching
Loneliness It is not our successes in life that make us who we are; but rather, our failures! We are not commanded to GROW, but we are commanded to OBEY. God is responsible for everything that HAPPENS to me, but I am responsible for everything I DO. God's way is found at the intersection between human responsibility and divine providence. God doesn't take away your burden and give you a song; but rather, He gives you a song to sing as you bear your burden. Jesus simply gives you a different yoke, that makes the same burden easier to bear! It is not our successes that make us who we are, but our failures.

Why Would God Love A Misfit Like Me?
People Just Want To Be Loved
A Broken Heart Because Of
The Consequences Of Sin; Because of David's sins of adultery with Bath-Sheba and the murder of her husband to hide her unintended pregnancy, king David's neighbours were afraid to associate with him and shunned him...
104 times throughout the book of Psalms we find the words “enemy ” or “enemies.” Hence, the Lord's enemies used David's sins against him for the remainder of his life on earth. 2nd Samuel 12:14, “Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme...” Much of the afflictions and sorrow that we read about in the Psalms (which are all songs set to music on David's harp), relate to his sins and the consequences thereof. Ah, but we also see that David's sins have brought him closer to the Word of God and has made him a better man.
Don't judge others because they sin differently than you do!
The Essence Of A Christian LET GO, LET GOD! | A Wounded Spirit (MP3, Dr. Jeff Owens) Listen to these precious words from David...
My friend, let your stumbling stones of sin in life become your stepping stones to a closer walk with the Lord Jesus. Although some people will never forgive or stop condemning you, rejoice in knowing that your sins are between you and God alone.
God is the ONLY One to Whom we must give account in eternity. It doesn't matter if the whole world condemns you, if you're trusting upon the righteousness of God which is by faith in Christ Jesus, then you are eternally forgiven and secure in the Father's hands.
Notice that the Bible declares all men reproachable in God's eyes...
Many people live above reproach in this life, but NO ONE can live above sin. We are all dirty sinners. Thus, NO ONE has a right to condemn and point fingers at the sins of others. The Bible teaches that everyone's sins will be made open in eternity, so that those who have judged others here on earth by slandering, shunning, hating and destroying their neighbour with their mouth, will be held accountable by God and judged by their own hypocrisy...
David was heartbroken over his own sins and failures. David's enemies had no pity, no compassion, no love and no understanding. Instead they wickedly condemned him, reproaching him, making him full of heaviness...
Don't judge others because they sin differently than you do! “If we could ever hate the sin in ourselves as much as we hate the sin in others, we might have some idea what His Book is all about.” —Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001) If all you do is pray to God for your needs, you're probably going to get discouraged unless you develop a habit of THANKING GOD continually for all His blessings. Jesus said in Matthew 6:7-8 not to pray lengthy prayers for our self, because God already knows our needs; but in Luke 11:5-8 He teaches IMPORTUNITY, that is, persistently begging for the needs of OTHERS. Do you know why this is the way God wants us to pray? It is because God wants us to get out of the SELF LIFE and live for OTHERS, just as Christ set our example to follow. Philippians 2:4-5, “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”
Psalms 106:21,“They

Growing Your Ability To
Handle Depression
1st Peter 5:10, “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” The following are some truths from this Bible study by Dr. Owens...
“You are what you think. Control your
thinking!” When you feel yourself slipping into a depression, do these 7 things (from Brother Owen's outline):
It is easy to become self-centered and self-absorbed when we get depressed. We want to run, hibernate and hide. It's normal to be there for a little while, but we don't want to stay there! Don't let prayer become your own personal pity party. Be right with people. A lot of people are depressed because they are wrong with people. You can't make people like you, but you can like them. How they respond is their problem. GET CLOSE TO GOD!!! Let God love you! Most people must work their way out of depression. Stay busy! Work your way through it! Never despair, but if you do despair, keep on in despair. If everything falls apart, we have Jesus! The worst thing that will ever happen to us as Christians is down here on earth! Amen! Think about that! The unsaved world has nothing to look forward to. No wonder the world is so depressed! They have no Holy Spirit to turn to! That's why they run to the liquor, drugs and sexual immoralities. I thank God that I am a born-again Christian!!! You can't stop a burden from landing on your head, but you don't have to let it build a nest there!!! Amen. END

Wasted Suffering
|
Wasted Pain * * * * * * * If you want to live in “The Secret Place” of the Most High, you've got to believe three things...
|
Mark 11:25-26, “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Isaiah 53:3, “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”
How Our Hurts Can Help Have you ever been so emotionally drained that you finally just knocked out to sleep? I have! The disciples were filled with sorrow because Jesus was leaving them, and they were overwhelmed with fatigue... Luke 22:45, “And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow.” A Visit To A Cemetery In Hilo, Hawaii The more you brag on God's goodness, the more of His goodness you will see! Psalms 107:1-2, “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.” God is preparing you for the thing He has prepared you to do. “In dealing with people who have inflicted hurt, would it not be wise to go to extra lengths to understand that 'hurting people hurt people.'” —Mrs. Beverly Hyles What is “Religious Scrupulosity” & What Does God Say About it? Christians are tender-hearted people living in a cold-hearted world, and the two just don't mix!
For
My Love They Are Become My Adversaries! Psalms 34:18, “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” God always lives with a broken heart over man's unbelief and sin. When our heart is broken, we are in agreement with God and can walk with Him better. This is why we are taught to “be afflicted, and mourn, and weep:” in James 4:8-9 as part of drawing nigh unto God and He WILL draw nigh unto you! Walking with God means sharing His broken heart & His burdens over sin and unbelief that is hindering OTHERS from coming to the light of the glorious gospel to be saved.
I AM A VOICE! The Cure To A Broken Heart (by Pastor Robert York, First Baptist Church of Streetsboro, Ohio)
God Wants Every
Jesus Is The Sun God Opens Doors! When one door closes He opens another. It's not that Jesus closes doors, but He opens other doors! When Jesus opens a door, no man can shut it! ... Revelation 3:8, “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” Whether you are heavy-laden by a burden that someone else placed upon you, or whether you caused the burden for yourself, God will give you REST IN YOUR BURDEN!!!
It Doesn't Matter Matthew 11:28-29, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Everyone needs a burden; Everyone needs a heartache! “Let every man bear his own burden.” —Galatians 6:5 God doesn't take away our burden; but rather, He gives us a different yoke (His harness) to bear our burden! It's not how you got there that moves God, it's that you're there! It Doesn't Matter How You Got There! —an awesome MP3 sermon by Dr. Jack Hyles! If your heart is crushed, and your future looks mighty bleak, and you feel like you're dying inside, come to Jesus and HE WILL GIVE YOU REST! Someone has said that a camel is a horse put together by a Baptist committee! My Permanent Neck Injury Below are MRI snapshots from before my first surgery (left, 2008), after the first surgery (middle, 2009), and now after my second surgery (right, 2010). I had the discectomy and fusion surgery done in July of 2009 and then redone in April of 2010. I still have stenosis (compression of the spinal cord) and radiculopathy (sharp radiating pain in my arms and legs). The second surgeon said my bones weren't fusing according to a CT Scan, so he took a bone graft from my left hip to put into my neck. During the first surgery, an artificial implant was used. The hip bone is necessary for the neck bones to fuse solid, and the titanium plate holds it all together. I still have horrible toothache-like pain where the bone is located in back of my neck. The constant chronic pain and tension in my neck are debilitating. Yet I count my blessings that I still have most of my strength and functionality. God still uses damaged goods like me. Please listen to “THE SECRET PLACE” by Attorney David Gibbs Sr. about his mother's health ordeal and I guarantee that God will break your heart. You can see below where I still have a bone spur compressing my spinal cord at C5-C6. I have been discouraged by 3 doctors, including a neurologist and orthosurgeon, from having any further surgery, since the last surgery made me worse, leaving me with peripheral neuropathy (in addition to the original stenosis and radiculopathy)...
Above: MRI's Of My Neck Before & After 2 Major Neck Surgeries Below is what my titanium implant and six surgical screws looks like in my neck. I don't notice any loss of range of motion (being able to turn my head), but I was told that range of motion is usually only noticed if the upper neck disks are removed between C1 to C5. I had the two disks between bones C5-C6-C7 removed. I don't complain. God is good! I praise the Lord for His blessings! I can still walk, but many people cannot.
