The World's Most Successful Failure—Bishop T.D. Jakes

       I have been listening yesterday and today to Bishop Thomas Dexter Jakes (born 1957), commonly known as T.D. Jakes. T.D. Jakes is the pastor of The Potter's House in Dallas, Texas. I really love listening to this man preach. My favorite sermon by Bishop Jakes is titled: “Nothing That You've Been Through Shall be Wasted.” I hope you'll listen to it. It is a sermon for misfit people, like me, never fitting in no matter how much I try, because something always happens and I don't just fit (hence my website ministry). T.D. Jakes wisely says that being a misfit is part of the methodology of God. The Lord never intended for me to fit! God made me a preacher, a misfit like John the Baptist.

Moses was a misfit. If Moses had grown up among his own Hebrew people, he couldn't have led what he fit in with. Jesus said every prophet is without honor among his own people (Matthew 13:57). Since Moses was a Hebrew, he never fit in with the Egyptians among whom he was raised. If Moses had fit in with the Egyptians, he couldn't have rebuked the devil he was sleeping with. If Moses fit in with the Midianites, he would have missed God's will for his life and built a house in the desert that God never intended for him to stay in. Romans 1:17, “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” I have never heard a sermon that has helped me as much as this precious sermon by Bishop T.D. Jakes, and I thank God that I heard it.

Bishop Jakes truly has a brilliant mind, and is an admirable man on many levels. He grew up in poverty in South Carolina, placing a bowl of ice behind a fan for air conditioning. His father worked hard as a janitor and used to humbly brag to his son about the big homes that he cleaned for the wealthy people. Thomas Jakes' testimony of his roots is heartbreaking. Jakes' mother lost her baby born before Thomas, and the child after, making him more precious to his mother, being the lone survivor. While growing up, Jakes father was a dying man. At age 20 Thomas began pastoring a church, which reminded me of Dr. Jack Hyles, who also grew up in poverty in East Texas during The Great Depression. Brother Hyles pastored his first church at age 19. Jack Hyles' mother also lost two daughters to disease, both dying at age 7. The similarities are striking. What a beautiful sermon: “Nothing That You've Been Through Shall be Wasted.”
 

T.D. Jakes is a Wretched Failure On the Gospel

As much as I admire T.D. Jakes for his mastermind, I can say without hesitation that this man is pulling on the same rope as the Devil, and that his damnation slumbereth not as a greedy health, wealth and prosperity pimp in the pulpit. Just because someone helps me in one area, doesn't mean I give them a blank check, preferential treatment, or a pass on Scriptural soundness. God Himself is not a respecter of persons, and neither ought we to be (Romans 2:11).

Here is just one of many disturbing YouTube videos, where T.D. Jakes reveals that he teaches “ANOTHER GOSPEL.” In this video Bishop Jakes corrects the Holy Bible, saying that we ought not use the term BORN AGAIN, but he says we should say: BORN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN! That is reason enough for me to call him an unsaved reprobate! Mr. Jakes, as awesome as he interprets most Scripture passages, cannot even get the plan of salvation right. And ladies and gentlemen, if a man is wrong on the Gospel he is wrong on everything, in the sense that first, he is a hellbound false prophet; and second, you cannot trust anything else he says.

We as Christians often use the term “born again,” but we should say: “Born again, again and again and again,” because if you look back over your life—every so often, every so often, every so many days or situations or circumstances—you find yourself in a world that's too small and too tight and too limited, and you'll have to go through a birthing process from one dimension to get into another dimension, and you're being born, again and again."

Dear reader, that is the doctrine of demons! John 3:5, “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” Every human being is born spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1). When Adam sinned, sin and death entered into the human race (Romans 5:12). That is why we must all be born anew, i.e., born again, born spiritually into God's kingdom, or else we cannot go to Heaven when we die the physical death. Romans 6:23 says that the wages (our just pay) for our sins is death. No man can escape the first physical death. But thanks be to God, through the precious blood of Jesus Christ which He shed on Calvary's cross for OUR SINS, we can escape the second death. The Bible describes the “second death” in Revelation 20:14-15, “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Truly, many religious people are going to slide into Hell from a church pew. I hope that doesn't happen to you dear friend. Bishop T.D. Jakes has tons of blood on his hands!

The way you get BORN AGAIN is to believe THE GOSPEL. That is, you MUST place your sole trust in the “GOOD NEWS” of Jesus' death on the cross, burial and physical resurrection from the dead three days later (1st Corinthians 15:1-6). If you receive this simple information recorded in God's Word as being true, and it is your only hope for forgiveness of sins, then you have eternal life. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” This is how everyone gets saved. Galatians 3:2, “This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

On the Day Of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter preached and said: “Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls” (Acts 2:40-41). There were 3,000 people miraculously saved in one day, because they simply BELIEVED the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen when they heard it preached. And in this case, they received believer's water baptized afterwards, as a public profession of their faith. Water baptism is NOT necessary for salvation, but is the first step of obedience as a new believer that God wants us to fulfill. You don't get water baptized to BE saved, but because YOU ARE saved. The thief on the cross was never water baptized, yet Jesus assured Him that they would be in “Paradise” together that very day because of his faith (Luke 23:43). No one in the Old Testament was water baptized. Abraham was saved by faith alone (Genesis 15:6). Anyone who places childlike faith in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is saved, because He is the Savior Who died on the cross for our sins, was buried and three days later He miraculously raised up! Amen! Hallelujah! What an awesome Savior!!!
 

Bishop T.D. Jakes Bids Godspeed to Ungodly False Prophets

2nd John 1:9-11, “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

Pastor T.D. Jakes praises Oprah Winfrey, an ungodly false prophet who has repeatedly denied salvation through Jesus Christ throughout her secular career in media. We've got a bunch of reprobate (unsaved) heretics in the pulpits today. Kindly, I think T.D. Jakes is as phony as can be. he is wrong on being born-again, and he bids Godspeed to a degenerate like Oprah Winfrey. I was disgusted watching the following disturbing video, titled: “T.D. Jakes Makes Oprah Winfrey Cry.” James 4:4, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” These imposters who influence tens of millions of people must be exposed, not embraced. Titus 1:10-13, “For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.” T.D. Jakes openly says that he wants to be known for what he is FOR, and not what he is against!

In the preceding video T.D. Jakes tells Oprah that he believes people in false religions can come to God through their pagan beliefs. That is blasphemy against the inspired Word of God!!! At one point in the video Jakes quotes Jesus in John 14:6 that He is “the door,” but then he succumbs to pressure from Oprah for him to agree with her that people who have never heard of Jesus, can still come to God through their Satanic false religion. Folks, that is not true! Islamic Muslims are going straight to Hell. Mormons are going straight to Hell. Jehovah's Witnesses are going straight to Hell. Baha'i Faith are going straight to Hell. Judaizer Jews are going straight to Hell. Buddhists are going straight to Hell. Roman and Orthodox Catholics are going straight to Hell. Lutherans are going straight to Hell. Church of Christ are going straight to Hell. Scientologists are going straight to Hell. Hindus are going straight to Hell. All of these aforementioned false religions pervert the Gospel. Galatians 1:9, “As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

You see, Oprah is not a born-again child of God, so she cannot understand spiritual things (1st Corinthians 2:14-16). So for Bishop Jakes to bid her Godspeed and agree with her, just seals her doom in the Lake of Fire. If Thomas Jakes truly loved people (as he openly claims), then he would warn them! If Thomas Jakes truly loved Oprah as his friend, then he would sternly warn her that there are not many paths to God. John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” I have often heard Oprah rationalize that if a person in a remote part of the world has never heard the name of Jesus, but they have a good heart and want to do what is right, surely God must allow them to come to Him through a different path. The Bible gives us the answer in Titus 2:13, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” I don't claim to understand how God fulfills this Bible verse, but I know God is faithful. If a person never had a chance to get saved, God would be unjust to send them to Hell. If God sees an unsaved person who desires to be saved, then God will send them a soulwinner, as He arranged for Corneous and the apostle Peter to meet in Acts chapter 10.

Again, go watch a YouTube video called: “TD Jakes Makes Oprah Cry,” in which he attributes her entire shameful Satanic career to being God’s will. I can tell you with all Biblical certainty and confidence that Oprah Winfrey is of the Devil. And may I say, nobody is as close to the throne of God as Lucifer. We read in Job 1:6 and Revelation 12:10 that Satan frequently visits the throne of God. So it should not come as a surprise that wicked reprobates like Oprah, who hate the truth and work to hinder the cause of Christ, would act like God's buddy. Even Judas gave Jesus a kiss of betrayal before the soldiers hauled Him away. Oprah is dangerous! Read how a female YouTube visitor replied to the preceding creepy video: “Bishop Jakes very skillfully reminded Oprah of her roots in God. It was brilliant and beautiful.” What? Is she smoking something? Please don’t be fooled dear reader—God is not a friend of the world, and the world is not God’s friend! Oprah does not have her roots in God, but in her father the Devil!
 

T.D. Jakes' Satanic All-Inclusive Gospel

Luke 6:26, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.”

Pastor Jakes produced the religious 2014 film titled, “Heaven Is For Real,” which teaches a false plan of salvation and leaves off the Gospel completely. Is Bishop T.D. Jakes a soulwinner? I've just spent an hour searching the internet for anything about T.D. Jakes preaching the Gospel, or how to go to Heaven, or how to be saved, but I found NOTHING! Is Bishop T.D. Jakes a soulwinner? I think not! Certainly, he wins people's heart and wins their soul over to T.D. Jakes, but not to the only begotten Son of God. If you analyze his preaching from an objective point of view, despite all the incredible moving things that Jakes says, he intentionally avoids theological doctrine, doesn't preach against sin, doesn't warn people about the judgment of God or an everlasting burning Hell, and he doesn't present the Gospel. I guess the best way to sum up Bishop T.D. Jakes is this way—It's not what he says that is so wrong, it's what HE DOESN'T SAY!

Please understand that I am not claiming these people are insincere. I have seen Oprah Winfrey cry on many occasions. I think she is real and sincere, believing in what she is doing. I watched Bishop T.D. Jakes weep in tears as he spoke about a woman whose baby died in her womb, and she almost died from the toxicity caused by the baby's death. I believe these people are real, but I also KNOW that the Devil is working through them to deceive and destroy the masses. I don't think these people go home and say, “Suckers! I fooled them and got their money!” I think they really believe in what they are doing. By the time T.D. Jakes had already become a world renowned evangelist, he didn't even know about the doctrine of the Trinity! Folks that is messed up. That tells me all those years Jakes has been pastoring a church since age 20, he was misleading people about the Godhead. Although I am glad to learn that T.D. Jakes has repented of his modalism heresy and embraced the Trinity, I am alarmed that such a woefully ignorant man could even achieve such a higher level of popularity in the churches. This is the reality of the world we live in today!

Influential megachurch pastor Bishop T. D. Jakes believes many pastors are focused more on preaching than they are on bringing people to Jesus.

"This is something that I think we've kind of gotten away from. We have gotten more into preaching than winning souls," he told fellow Texas pastor Ed Young of Fellowship Church as they fished.

Jakes, who founded The Potter's House in Dallas, noted that the act of witnessing often took place off stage.

"It used to be the preachers themselves witnessed in the grocery store anywhere, didn't need a mic, didn't need a crowd," he said.

"What's important about that is people will do what you do and if you're not a soul winner, you can teach what you know but you reproduce what you are."

...When it comes to soul winning, Jakes remarked that just as fishing "represents one world going into another to bring things in," you have to "go into the world, out of your element and bring people in."

"There's a wisdom. You have to be aware of how to talk. You use different kinds of bait for different kinds of fish. What church people don't understand is you can't go into the world and use church language and catch the world. You have to use the language that the world can relate to," Jakes explained.

"We have to get away from the mentality of thinking everybody's coming to church. The church has to go to them. Jesus said go, not just come ... We have to get out there."

The Dallas pastor, who is also a filmmaker ("Heaven Is for Real"), also stressed the importance of relationship and loving people when reaching people for Jesus.

"We have really forgotten the simplicity of relationship and it not only shows in soul winning, it also shows in how we treat each other," he told Young. "I think it's because it's predominantly men and men have a propensity to always want to fix things. We're so busy trying to fix people, we forgot how to love them.

"If you love me then I'll let you fix me. But if you try to fix me and I don't think you love me, I'm going to resent you. So we have to pass the love test."

...So many pastors are lonely, he lamented, and many have "forgotten how to be friends."

Pastors need someone they can talk to, with whom they can feel safe and who "get them," Jakes noted.

"I think there's a powerful message just in the illustration of us coming together in the same city."

Bishop T.D. Jakes says that “the act of witnessing often takes place off stage.” What? Millions of Jakes' fans across the world are still waiting to hear the Gospel on stage! What a wicked man! What a phony! I see no Gospel whatsoever. I mean, just last year T.D. Jakes was denying the Trinity, but allegedly got straightened out by ministry peers. Now T.D. Jakes needs to be corrected on what the Gospel is as well. He is wrong on what it means to be born-again. He is wrong on the Gospel. He is not a soulwinner!

I want to show to you that T.D. Jakes preaches “ANOTHER GOSPEL” (Galatians 1:6-9; 2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). In his sermon titled, “THE GOSPEL EXPOSED,” Jakes says that “Conviction leads to conversion, and without conviction a person cannot be converted. ...It's all about CHANGE! ...that's conversion!” If you listen to the whole sermon, T.D. Jakes teaches a false Gospel of turning away from the old sinful ways, which is not the Gospel. He says: “Conviction comes to convert me, but not to condemn me.” Jakes says some wonderful things in the sermon. He is sweating profusely, pouring his body and soul into his preaching, and I believe sincere, which is admirable. Jakes continues to make a bunch of vague statements, alluding to Christ's death and that Christ resurrects us from things that have died in our life; but unfortunately, he never even comes close to actually preaching “THE GOSPEL.” Beware of T.D. Jakes social gospel. And may I remind you that one of history's most famous Baptist preachers, Martin Luther King Jr., openly denied the deity of Jesus Christ!!!
 

Bishop T.D. Jakes is An Amazing Man, But has Dropped the Ball for God

Thomas Dexter Jakes (born 1957) started pastoring a church at age 20, similar to Dr. Jack Hyles (who became a pastor at age 19). Jakes had only 10 members, which grew within a few years to over 1,000 members, again very similar to Dr. Jack Hyles. T.D. Jakes went from rags to riches, so poor in the beginning that their family slept on church pews for housing. Jakes said his father labored as a janitor and used to brag about the expensive mansions that he cleaned. He'd say, “Son, I cleaned that big house over there!” And now, Jakes said he owns and lives in a big home. Yea, I'll say it's big, costing $1,700,000! Everyone loves a rags to riches story! Yet, what about the Gospel? I've never heard T.D. Jakes warn anyone about an eternal Hell with fire and brimstone! Something is very wrong with this picture. Preacher? Man of God? Soulwinner? I don't think so! Thomas Jakes could be such a mighty Gospel preacher, if he would only let God break him as He did Moses, and start preaching THE TRUTH!

Check this out (how brilliant T.D. Jakes is as an orator) in an older sermon called, “Still Not Saved.” This guy is amazing as a speaker! T.D. Jakes' is the pastor of The Potter's House church in Texas. I'll tell you, we fundamental Baptists could use some of this zeal that African-American churches have! Pastor Jack Hyles used to say that we need some of what the Charismatics have. We don't need their heresies, but we do need some of their zeal. The Potter's House have 30,000 members, many of whom are seen in Jakes' sermons crying and expressing their emotions in response to his preaching. Thomas Jakes is a dynamic preacher, without question, but unfortunately he is not a faithful man of God. If you listen to his sermons, he invites people to receive Christ as their Lord, which is not the Gospel. He inspires people, comforting the afflicted, and makes some amazingly helpful statements, but there is NO GOSPEL. Jakes preaches a social gospel of ecumenism.

Horrible compromisers like T.D. Jakes will quote John 14:6 under the breath, almost like a hiccup, but they won't dare step on the toes of a Christ-rejecting false religion publicly, lest they lose support and end up with much less money. Truly the love of money is the root of all evil (1st Timothy 6:10). There is nothing worse than a one-size fits all kind of disgraceful minister who bodily refuses to proclaim the truth that salvation is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ! Sadly, Oprah has T.D. Jakes intimidated, so that he agreed with her that there are many paths to Heaven. When Jesus said in John 10:16a, “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold,” He was NOT referring to Christ-rejecting Satanic religions!!! The Lord was referring to other born-again Christians in different areas, groups and walks of life. The Scripture is adamant that you either go through Jesus Christ to the Father, or you DON'T GO! That means you'll burn in Hell forever and pay for your own sins! If T.D. Jakes is truly saved, I wonder how he will feel in eternity when Oprah is cast into the Lake of Fire. It is truly sad and tragic. God pity the preacher that the world don't hate!
 

Counterfeit Minister T.D. Jakes is a Failure in God's Sight

T.D. Jakes has a net worth of $150,000,000. There is something very wrong with a Bible preacher possessing that amount of wealth. Christianity began as a new birth. When it went to Greece, it became a philosophy. When it went to Rome, Christianity became an organization. When Christianity spread throughout Europe, it became a culture. And when it came to America, Christianity became a stinking business! Everywhere we turn today, we see charlatans exploiting Christianity to make filthy lucre. All of the most popular televangelists in the United States are multi-millionaires! It is sinful.

What good is a fervent, dynamic, bombastic, fiery, zealous, manly preacher, if he withholds the truth from those who need it most? Oprah is going to Hell, but she'll never hear a warning from T.D. Jakes. I watched three sermons today by a black preacher in Maryland named John K. Jenkins Sr.. I love this guy's Bible preaching. Pastor Jenkins of the First Baptist Church Of Glenarden, Maryland rips on Hell, preaches the Gospel boldly and accurately, and keeps his preaching exciting the way it should be. He rips against women wearing pants, preaches hard against booze, and rips against abortion! I tell you, today's independent fundamental Baptist churches need some of the excitement and zeal that is only found in black churches today! T.D. Jakes is exciting, but he doesn't have the backbone to preach the truth! An ecumenical social gospel is no Gospel at all! I don't like that Pastor John Jenkins Sr. hobnobs with T.D. Jakes, which shows that he is somewhat ecumenical. Still, there is a big difference between the preaching of these two men.

Bishop Jakes is a gifted orator. He is a man's man kind of guy! I enjoy listening to Pastor Jakes, sincerely. But my heart cringes because of what he doesn't say. 2nd Timothy 4:3, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.”

You see friend, the Devil and the world use people! T.D. Jakes is being used by the Devil to help blind people. He gives them everything they want, which is why the flock to his church by the thousands, but he doesn't give them what they need; namely, the Gospel. 2nd Timothy 3:5, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” That “power” is the Gospel according to Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Notice that the Gospel is powerless if you refuse to BELIEVE it. So to be saved, a person MUST first hear the Gospel preached; and then if you believe that 'GOOD NEWS,' you are saved!

Religion wants to fit us with glasses, but the Lord wants to open our eyes! Thank God for the truth of His precious Word, which is a lamp unto our feet. Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” America's churches influence the world, so if Satan can corrupt our churches here at home, then he can corrupt the world. The United States sends out more missionaries than any other nation. Sadly, there is MUCH heresy and false teaching circulating on the radio, television and in our churches nowadays concerning what a person must do to be saved. T.D. Jakes is giving people what they want, not what they need! Instead of making people feel comfortable in their sins, preachers ought to be crying aloud against sin! We need missionaries to come to America!
 

What Exactly Is The Gospel?

The word “Gospel” means “Good News” or “Glad Tidings.” There is no need to guess what the “Gospel” is because the Bible plainly tells us. The “Gospel” is the Good News of Christ's DEATH on the cross for our sins, His BURIAL and bodily RESURRECTION three days later:

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

We are saved by BELIEVING “the Gospel,” which is the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” It is that simple to be saved. If you admit that you are a guilty sinner in God's sight, and you receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as full payment for your sins, believing that He was buried, and bodily resurrected three days later, and that is your only hope for eternal life, then YOU ARE IMMEDIATELY, SECURELY AND FOREVER SAVED!!!

You don't go because you lied, you cussed, you drank, you smoked, you drugged; you don't go because you're a homosexual lesbian, adulterer; you don't go to Hell because of what you did, you go to Hell because of what you didn't do! You go to Hell because you did not believe on the name of the only begotten Son of God! Now why doesn't T.D. Jakes teach that? Why doesn't Pastor Steven Furtick teach that? I'll tell you why, because these are con men, shysters, counterfeit men of God, phonies, predators in the pulpit, who are after your hard-earned money!
