Don't Judge Others Because They Sin Differently Than You Do
By David J. Stewart | April 2015 | Updated January 2017
Romans 2:1, “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.”
Our text Bible verse very plainly warns that to condemn someone else is to condemn our self, because WE ARE ALL SINNERS!!! The Holy Bible calls it “INEXCUSABLE” if we judge others, meaning that God won't let it slide. God is willing to pardon YOU for even the vilest of sins committed, but not if you condemn, berate, belittle, harass, gossip, attack, intimidate and destroy others when they sin. Matthew 6:14-15, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
The internet is a war zone of self-righteous hypocrisy, gossip, hateful attacks and malicious slander. It is typical human nature to categorize sins, deciding by popular consensus and cultural trends what is evil and what is good. For example: American society approves of murdering human life in the womb; but God says not to kill (Exodus 12:14). American society now approves of same-sex marriages; but the Holy Bible calls the sin of homosexuality “vile affections,” “against nature” and “worthy of death” (Romans 1:24-32).
Albeit, one of the worst sins a Christian can commit is prayerlessness, which is akin to atheism. The Bible commands every believer to, “Pray without ceasing” (1st Thessalonians 5:17).
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. One of the worst sins that a Christian can commit is not to pray for others. 1st Samuel 12:23, “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way.” My point is that YOU my friend are a horrible sinner, and SO AM I, in more ways than you or I could ever imagine. Psalms 19:12, “Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.”
We Are All Blind to Our Sins Without the Mirror of God's Word
The Scriptures teach that a man without the Word of God is blind to his own sins (which we have all been at times). James 1:22-24, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” The word “glass” here means mirror, casting one's own reflection. In this case the Bible is referring to the Word of God which mirrors a man's own soul, showing him how wicked he really is.
But when a believer doesn't abide in the Word of God, they forget their true sinful nature, becoming narrow-minded concerning sin, as a horse wearing blinders. Of course, most people aren't saved, having no place for the Words of God in their life. The wicked world is filled with people whose only concept of evil is what man's law says is a crime, oblivious to God's laws. Their conscience has been seared due to habitual sin, which is why homosexuality is becoming so prevalent these days (only after a half-century of sexual immorality inspired by Hollywood). We all must give account to our Maker in eternity (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
The Holy Bible Warns Against Condemning Others
The Holy Bible has much to say about not personally condemning others for their faults, crimes, mistakes and sins in life . . .
James 4:12-17, “There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
Notice in the passage of Scripture we just read that it is a horrible sin not to include God in all our future plans. I have learned to always preface every future statement with the words, “LORD WILLING _____________.” For example: “Lord willing I'll do this next week,” or “Lord willing, I plan to go here next month,” et cetera. Any boast of what we plan to do in the future is a sin if we fail to acknowledge that we may not have a tomorrow. Proverbs 27:1, “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” God wants us to continually pray to Him, and to consider Him in all that we do and plan to do. 1st Corinthians 10:31, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
Tearing Each Other Down: It's the American Way!
American society is unquestionably one of the most critical, hateful and merciless cultures in history, simply due to the technological inventions of our time. Television has given the Devil incredible power of influence over people's lives. We are surrounded by the liberal, Godless and money-hungry newsmedia, whether it be newspapers, the television news networks, TV talk shows or the internet. The newsmedia prey upon broken families, the emotionally suffering and wrongdoers, for profit. Consequentially, the media have created a constant spirit of fear, distrust and paranoia in American society, neighbour against neighbour. In sharp contrast, the Word of God teaches us to love one another, to be kind, forgiving and gentle (Ephesians 4:30-31).
There are many wicked people who enjoy keeping other people's mistakes, faults and sins in the spotlight, especially if they are were once a celebrity, or a member of a well-known family, organization or church. The Bible teaches that love puts the past to rest, not throwing it in someone's face. Proverbs 10:12, “Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.” Of course, slanderers and critics will always try to justify their hypocrisy, claiming that the truth needs to be known, or any one of a hundred other lame excuses. As we read in Romans 2:1 from our text verse, God holds such critics “INEXCUSABLE,” because they are sinners too, just like the person they are continually trying to destroy in their self-righteousness and hatred. Proverbs 10:12 says that HATRED STIRRETH UP STRIFES!!!
Proverbs 11:9, “An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.” The Lord promises to judge each of us according to the SAME MEASURE that we judge others. Would you want God to focus on your sins for an extended time period, continually making you relive your mistakes, throwing your sins in your face for the rest of your life? How do you think God will judge such hypocrites in eternity, who took enjoyment from destroying and kicking others in the teeth continually, every time they tried to get back on the ladder after falling?
The Bible teaches that a righteous man FALLS SEVEN TIMES, yet he rises up again. Proverbs 24:16, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” This means that everyone sins, everyone falters, everyone does horrible things in life, even sometimes criminal activities, shameful things, unthinkable things. Am I condoning and approving of such wickedness? Of course not, God forbid. I am simply upholding the Biblical truth that even the best Christians still go into sin. No one “falls” into sin (implying an accident), we choose to sin, because we are sinners by nature and by choice.
Also, notice that the just man falleth seven times, but he gets up; however, “THE WICKED SHALL FALL INTO MISCHIEF.” There are two different Hebrew words used for the word “fall.” The first word regarding the Christian refers to stumbling, even though he or she chose to sin, because they originally were trying to do right, but went into sin. The second word refers to the wicked who deliberately commit sin, who were not trying to do right in the first place.
For example: It is commonplace in the secular workplace for ungodly men to go to a strip-joint together after work for a beer. This is evil. A Christian man who honors the Lord will not accept their invitation to go with them. Yet, those ungodly men one day catch the Christian man looking at a dirty-magazine at work. For years to come they continually bring up the dirty magazine every time that Christian man's name comes up, trying to tear him down and destroy his testimony. The truth is that the Christian man stumbled. He deliberately chose to look at something that he should not have, but he repented, embarrassed and determined not to do it again. Yet, those ungodly men continue cursing in God's name at work, and frequenting the strip-joints where whorish women bare all. This is exactly what Proverbs 24:16 is talking about. When you're a Christian, the whole world is waiting for you to fall, so they can condemn you for the rest of your life. All the while they continue wallowing in the hogpen of sin.
When you mess-up, get back up! You can't keep a good man down! This is what the Bible means in 2nd Corinthians 10:6, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” I don't understand Christians who quit just because they've ruined their testimony in a season of sin. Man, volunteer to work on a church bus route! Start a homeless ministry! Start a prison ministry! If you're at the bottom of life, then minister to those at the bottom of life with you. May I say, NOBODY CAN KEEP YOU FROM SERVING GOD EXCEPT YOU! There are literally billions of suffering people in this world who need your help! I don't care if you are considered the scum of society, you can be someone's hero if you'll sincerely get right with God, live for Jesus, and live for OTHERS! Do you think a homeless person on the street really cares about your sinful past?
My friend, if you have fallen, keep your eyes on Jesus. Romans 8:34 says that NO ONE can condemn you if you are born-again, because Jesus is your risen High Priest interceding for you in Heaven. If God has forgiven you, who can condemn you? If you are down on yourself, please listen to the uplifting MP3 sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles, “Where Did David Get His Mighty Men?” (they were a bunch of losers, outcasts and debtors).
“God will still use you, I
don't care what you've done!”

How to Truly Be a Satanist—Accuse Others!
If you've done some research into the New World Order, then you know that its custodians are Masonic, Luciferian-worshipping, occultists (Satan worshippers). At the infamous Bohemian Grove, world leaders gather just north of San Francisco every July, to have homosexual orgies and worship Lucifer. The word “occult” means hidden, which differentiates them from open Satanists; but either way, their allegiance is to the Devil. The most famous music and Hollywood celebrities are required to sell their soul to Satan, yield their body to sexual immorality, partake of Luciferian rituals, and sign an Illuminati contract in blood. It is all voluntary. Church of Satan founder, Anton LaVey (who wrote The Satanic Bible) was featured on The Eagles album Hotel California. I could go on-and-on.
But did you know that you're never more like Satan than when you criticize other people? You are just like the Devil when you accuse others, bringing up their faults and past sins, trying to cast shame and mire upon their name and reputation . . .
Revelation 12:10, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”
As you just read, Satan accuses Christians before God's throne day and night. If we accuse and point our finger at the past sins of others who've repented, then we are behaving exactly like Satan. The critical American newsmedia do far more to help Satan's kingdom of darkness than the Church of Satan does. When you post garbage on the internet about other people's shortcomings, faults and sins, you are doing far more damage than the Church of Satan could ever do. Ah, but the ole Dragon's days are numbered, when he himself shall be cast into the Lake of Fire and brimstone forever (Revelation 20:10). Please don't be like the Devil.
Everyone's Sins are Either Known Beforehand Or in Eternity
YOU too are a sinner my friend, so stop condemning others, lest you condemn yourself as Romans 2:1 warns. EVERYONE SINS, but some people's sins are known here on earth, and everyone else's will be known in eternity. 1st Timothy 5:24, “Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.” NO ONE will shine as a candle in eternity, having achieved near perfection while here on earth in the fleshly body. Don't judge others because they sin differently than you do.
There are a lot of “anonymous” attacks online against others, which is cowardly. They don't mention their name because they are almost assuredly lying and could be sued for defamation, that should be obvious. Does the obvious really have to be stated? So then what happens is other Godless critics, who don't mind using their own name (because they are not the source), will avoid legal liability by circulating the slander posted by the “ANONYMOUS” original source. After a few months or years, a witch-hunt has resulted, that turns into a hate-fiesta, all because some “ANONYMOUS” coward posted some untrue slander.
And by the way, it is 100% evil lying, deception and bearing false witness when a person exaggerates, leaves out complete details or cleverly words their criticism in such a way that it inflates a matter into something more than it really is (i.e., making a mountain out of a molehill). Literally, if worded properly, you could demonize a man for failing to return a library book as if he were a dishonest, characterless, unreliable, scoundrel, whom no one can trust. This is what the American newsmedia wickedly do continually, destroying people's lives and families. When you criticize and destroy someone, you have their blood on your hands.
It was Hitler's minister of propaganda who said it was possible, through repetition of false facts, to convince people that a square is really a circle. Listen to what Hitler's Nazi-fascist minister of propaganda said about the ease of deceiving people...
“It would not be impossible to prove with sufficient repetition and a psychological understanding of the people concerned that a square is in fact a circle. They are mere words, and words can be molded until they clothe ideas and disguise.” ―Joseph Goebbels
Hence, don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see. Don't say anything unless you know what you're talking about. And if you do open your mouth, you'd better be able to back-up what you're talking about. And if it is gossip... SHUT UP!!!
The Horrible Evils of Hearing and Repeating Gossip
One of the awful things about gossip is that you have no way of knowing what parts of the story are true, or what parts are false, so people just spread the whole caboodle. May I say, it is just as evil to knowingly hear gossip, spread gossip, and believe gossip as it is to start the rumor in the first place. If you hear and repeat the gossip, you are just as guilty as the original source. Most gossip usually contains some element of truth to it (but not all), which makes the gossip all the more deadly, to both the talebearer, the hearer, and the person being gossiped about. It doesn't matter if gossip is true or false, it is still gossip and is a sin to hear or repeat. If someone starts to tell you gossip, you kindly tell them STOP! If they keep going, then you WALK AWAY!
Gossip doesn't hurt the person being talked about the most; but rather, it hurts the people who hear the gossip. Proverb 18:8, “The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.” Gossip posted on the internet is the deadliest of all, because it sits there, like rat poison, waiting for it's next victim to find it and eat it, poisoning their soul. Only God knows the amount of damage that one critic does. God holds every individual accountable, for even our words typed and spoken.
Proper Biblical preaching always tries to remedy a present problem. In sharp contrast, gossip and criticizing others for sins of the past is only intended to ruin them, tear down their name, hurt their reputation further, discourage them, and convey hatred. Bringing up someone's troubled past doesn't hug, heal or help them. Five minutes of praise will do more for a person than a lifetime of criticism. Carnal people love to criticize others, so when you're done cutting everyone else down, now you're the tallest one still standing. That's a very shallow way of boosting your own self-esteem. The shallowest victory in the world is victory over another. Try conquering your self, by keeping your own tongue (or keyboard) bridled, and then you'll have instant character (James 1:26; 3:2).
“If there's
anybody in the Bible that God had disdain for,
it was those that had
disdain for other sinners!”

No One Can Condemn a Believer, Because it is Christ Who Paid for Our Sins
I didn't write this article in an attempt to sway critics and hatemongering slanderers to repent and stop their evil ways. Only God can humble them and show them their evil ways. If they will not listen to God's Word, they certainly won't listen to a big sinner saved by grace like me. Rather, I wrote this article for those of you who have been slandered, attacked, maligned, belittled, hurt and defamed, to encourage you that God is on your side.
I really love the next Bible verse. Romans 8:34, “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” Isn't that beautiful? The Bible is teaching us that NO ONE CAN CONDEMN US, because it is Jesus Who has the nail-scarred hands and feet. Jesus has the pierced side. Jesus has the scars in His brow from the crown-of-thorns. Jesus has the scars from where His flesh was torn away from His ribs and back by the Roman soldier's cat-of-nine-tails. Thank you Lord for suffering, being beaten, spit upon, bleeding and dying for a sinful wretch like me!!!
King David had sinned horribly, conspiring to commit murder after impregnating a soldier's wife in an adulterous fling. Many of God's blessings departed from David. Sorrow became the norm in David's life. What evils David had done in secret, became openly known throughout the whole kingdom of Israel. David's neighbours avoided him in awkward fear. Some cast stones and dust upon him. David's enemies had a hey day! Yet, David realized that God's opinion was the only opinion that mattered at all! Psalms 51:4, “Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” This is exactly what Romans 8:34 teaches us, that is, no one can condemn us except God, and there is NO CONDEMNATION to those who have been washed in the sin-cleansing blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1; 1st John 1:7; Revelation 1:5; 1st Peter 1:18-19). Thank God for the blood of Jesus!!!
“The Devil will make you guilty about your past... You're not worthy to serve God, but neither is anybody else worthy to serve God, and so God's gotta have unworthy people serving Him... That's one reason why we should do everything we can to salvage people.” —a beautiful quote from the MP3 sermon by Dr. Jack Hyles titled, “If Thou Should Mark Iniquities, Who Could Stand?”
God's Harshest Judgment is Reserved for Those Who Deal Harshly With Sinners
The Bible's definition of a “hypocrite” is someone who considers another person a bigger sinner than them self. ...
Matthew 7:1-5, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.”
As we just read in the Holy Bible, God doesn't want us to berate, belittle, malign, attack, judge (condemn), degrade, criticize and continually throw someone else's past in their face, lest God deal the same hurtful and rotten way with us. There should be a desire in every Christian (God's unconditional love) that wants to forgive the mistakes and sins of others. Proverb:19:11, “The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.”
I am not saying that crimes ought to be ignored as if they hadn't happened. We ought not look the other way when a crime has been committed. However, if that person has been brought to justice and have repented, who are we to condemn them for the rest of their life? To do so brings the judgment of God. In America, once you mess-up your life, people will try to keep you down permanently. The world will drive you to the ground and keep you there if you let them. The Christian ought to focus on the forgiveness that is obtained through the blood of Christ's cross, which supercedes all else. Proverbs 24:16, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” God wants the Christian to RISE UP, knowing that you have been forgiven in Christ. I believe this is exactly what is meant in Hebrews 10:22, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”
Preaching Against Open Public Sin is Biblical
It is not sinful to judge wickedness that is shamelessly promoted in public; such as, abortion, homosexuality, lewdness, Hollywood continually taking the Lord's name in vain, violence, et cetera. James Cameron is a wicked man, a Hollywood producer, who loves to have his actors curse repeatedly in the Lord's holy name. In his 1997 blockbuster movie, “Titanic,” Cameron's actors curse using the expletive, “God da_n!” 17 times! [ 1 ] In his film, “The Abyss,” Cameron's actors curse in the Lord's name about three dozen times!!! Deuteronomy 5:11, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” The world is the Devil's playground.
As Christians, we ought to take a stand against all forms of wickedness that is open, public, shameless, agendacized, deliberate and ongoing! I would never condemn Mr. Cameron on a personal level for any of his sins. First, because God forbids it (James 4:12). Second, his business is none of my business. Third, because I am just as much a big sinner in God's eyes (but I have been forgiven by God's righteousness). James Cameron is a devout atheist (for a staunch atheist he sure curses God an awful lot!) . . .
...Cameron, however, has bucked the traditions of his childhood and has moved from agnostic to full-blown atheist. It is reported that Cameron used to consider himself an agnostic, but has since called agnosticism “cowardly atheism.” His aversion to religion began in his childhood. When the other kids in Cameron’s school were saying the Lord’s Prayer, he declined to join in, calling it a “tribal chant.”
Cameron has since attempted to debunk any claims of supernatural miracles in Christianity with his documentary film, The Lost Tomb of Jesus. The film claims to have found the remains of Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, and their children. Citing the names on the tombs and DNA evidence, the film seeks to show that Jesus was a regular guy who died and was not resurrected.
The “scientific results” of the film were largely dismissed, even by the scientists who worked for Cameron. Still, it takes quite the religious antagonist to try to disprove Christianity. [emphasis added]As you just read, Cameron openly blasphemes Jesus Christ, denying His resurrection, and thus, rejects THE GOSPEL. 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” I have given you just one example of several thousands possible, of the open public wickedness that we should all be criticizing. Granted, believers who attend movie cinema, pay for movie rentals, and purchase movies are supporting Hollywood. There is a proven sinister agenda—CIA propaganda, Communist subversion, immoral indoctrination—behind most of Hollywood's films, intended to shape public opinion, destroy the traditional family and destroy Christianity in America. If I could legally do so, I'd burn Hollywood to the ground and every film ever produced since they opened their first movie studio in 1912.
It does not come as a surprise that James Cameron denies God's existence, because by doing so he eliminates any basis for criticism from the religious community for all the nudity, violence, lewdness, taking the Lord's name in vain, filth and wickedness in his movies. People become atheists so that they don't have to be accountable to God in their own mind (Romans 1:28). The Lord is willing to forgive Mr. Cameron, but he is very wealthy and likely will never come to Jesus Christ, just as Jesus said (Matthew 19:24).
To Whom Much is Forgiven, the Same Loveth Much
There is forgiveness in Christ Jesus for the vilest sinner (Isaiah 1:18); but there is no forgiveness for the malicious, self-righteous, critical, hypocrite(s) who is always nipping at the heels of others who have sinned. Matthew 6:14-15, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” I have forgiven everyone who has ever hurt me (and those who continue to hurt me). Forgiveness is letting a matter of injustice (or perhaps even hurt feelings) go into God's hands for judgment. Matthew 12:36 teaches that God will hold all men accountable even for their idle words spoken. You can do that my friend. You can let go of the bitterness. We can all do that. It is a matter of faith. The Lord promises in Romans 12:19 to avenge all men of injustices committed by others, and vise versa.
I'll be the first to admit that I am a big sinner (and so are you). Dr. Jack Hyles used to say not to be afraid to admit to others that you have feet of clay, but never show them your feet. I've made many mistakes in my life. I wish I could do many things differently if I could go back in time, but I cannot. Although I wish I could make everything right, I simply cannot, because I am a mere man. Thankfully, God sent His only begotten Son into the world to bleed, suffer and die on the cross for my sins. Christ is risen! JESUS CAN MAKE THINGS RIGHT!!! If the Lord can forgiven a worm like me, then I certainly can and do forgive everyone who has ever wronged me! Luke 7:47, “Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.” END
“Nobody can
love God who doesn't love sinners!”

Happiest Man” (happiest is the man who will not impute sin to others!)
