One Day The Prison Door Of Sin Will Close
by David J. Stewart | June 2015
Proverbs 20:17, “Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.” ... Job 4:8, “Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.”
The pleasures of sin only last for a season. You may sin for twenties years and get away with it, but God promises that no one will get away with sin. It will catch up with you at some point, either in this life or the next in eternity. Multitudes of people are living in the pleasures of sin today. They have no fear of God. Their soul is a black as coal with lust, pride, deceit, hate and unbelief. The Holy Bible would have you to know whoever you may be, that our days are numbered.
Death could come suddenly, unexpected, from a mere spider bite, car wreck, heart-attack, freak accident, murder, to a bale of hay rolling down a hillside. This 17-year-old highschool junior never thought in his wildest imagination that he would go from flashing his headlights at a cop to be shot 7-times to death by him. I read in the local newspaper a couple years ago about an old tree that fell on a woman and instantly killed her. The question is: Are you ready to meet your Maker (God)?
James 1:13-15, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” If God's Word stand true, then sin always brings forth death. Romans 6:23 says that the wages (payment) for our sin is death.
Here is a good quote from the religious film titled, “God's Not Dead.” ...
“Sometimes the Devil allows people to live a life free of trouble, but he doesn't want them turning to God. Your sin is like a jail cell except it's all nice and comfy, and there doesn't seem to be any reason to leave, and the door's wide open. But one day time runs out, and the cell-door slams shuts, and suddenly, it's too late!”
In other words, you cannot eat at the Devil's table without being food poisoned. You cannot play with the Devil's fire without getting burned. All of Satan's apples have worms. Sin will always cost you more than you intended to pay, take you farther than you wanted to go, and keep you longer than you planned to stay. To abstain from sin is a yoke of wood (missing out on the fun), but to indulge in it brings a yoke of iron (reproach, disease, broken family, divorce, prison, lawsuits, premature death, God's judgment).
The Devil always shows young people the flashing neon lights of “Sin City” Las Vegas, but he doesn't show you the hospitals, drug rehab centers, prisons, homeless people on the streets, shelters, rescue missions, morgues and court rooms). The Devil is a beautiful liar!!! Jesus always told the truth! The Holy Bible, that is, the King James Bible, is brutally honest. God doesn't hold anything back to deceive us, worried that we can't handle the full dosage of truth. The Bible gives it to us like it is!!! Evil men change the Bible, corrupting it to make money, deceiving the masses. Satan is a two-faced, half-truth deceiver, a liar of liars.
If you'll saturate your soul and life with the precious Words of God, listening to Bible-preaching and pursuing the things of God, then you won't be deceiver by the Devil. I just read in the news today about a 21-year-old white boy who murdered nine blacks in cold blood in South Carolina, while they were sitting in church praising God. Can we really ask why, when we have removed the Word of God and prayer from our nation's classrooms? We are getting what we deserve for abandoning the God of the Holy Bible. Satan is targeting our youth to destroy them, and he's using the wicked to do it. The love of money is the root of all evil. Hell will be hot enough for Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Katy Perry, David Lee Roth, Brian Johnson, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Jay Z, Snoop Dog, Amy Winehouse, and tens-of-thousands more celebrities who prey upon our youth with spiritual darkness.
My friend, if you are dwelling in the house of the Devil, you are playing with fire, because one day the door will slam shut and you won't be able to escape. Do you know that once you choose to sin, you lose your freedom of choice? Before you sin, you have a choice; but once you cross that line and choose to sin or do evil, it's a done deal, it is too late and now you must face the consequences. Life is short, often very short. You could be dead by sundown, I don't care what your age is, child or elderly adult. Death does not discriminate.
I remember a little boy, who was playing hide-and-seek with his sister. He crawled into the back of a pickup truck piled with junk and hid in an old microwave oven. He was small and limber enough to fit inside the full-sized microwave, but the door latch locked and he suffocated to death. They found his lifeless body a couple days later. That is so tragic! Freak accidents happen everyday. Here's 1,000 ways to die! Today could be your last day alive on earth. Eventually, one day WILL BE your last day alive on earth. If you live to be the average age of 70-years-old, you have a total of 25,550 days on earth. What are you doing for God each day?
The door to to prisonhouse of sin won't be open to come and go as you please forever. One day it will slam shut and you'll never escape. The disease will come to stay. The prison sentence will be for life. Death will come at an early age. The death of a loved one will be forever. The pain caused by sin won't ever depart. The damage caused by the evil will become permanent. The news is filled every day with tragic stories, evidencing what I am saying to you. How much better it is to serve the Lord, do right, avoid sin, and enjoy the peace of God in our daily life. I wouldn't want to live with a cloud of worry over my head from dealing drugs, cheating around with someone else's wife, stealing at work, doing evil and trying not to get caught. I refuse to live that way! I thank God that I live with a clean conscience toward God and men. That is how Christians are supposed to live. I am not perfect, far from it, but there is no evil in my life that I hope no one finds out about. I have nothing to hide, and I live that way because I fear God.
Likewise, the door of salvation will one be slammed shut, and it will be too late if you are on the wrong side of the door. If you die in your sins without Jesus Christ, Hell will last for ever and ever! Although you don't have to give up your sins to receive the gift of eternal life, your love for sin will keep you from coming to Christ to receive His free gift, shunning away the Holy Spirit in your unholy ways. That's why repentance is necessary for salvation, otherwise no one would ever come to Christ to be saved. Repentance is a change of mind, where you acknowledge your guilty condition as a woeful sinner in the eyes of a holy God. When you believe the Gospel, receiving Christ's sacrifice upon the cross as full-payment for your sins, believing that He is bodily risen from the dead, you are saved. END
