Jesus Promised, “Him That Cometh To Me I Will In No Wise Cast Out” (even continuing sinners!)

By David J. Stewart | December 2013

John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

The Lord made a PROMISE in John 6:37, “He That Cometh To Me I Will In No Wise Cast Out.” The Lord's integrity is at stake. He must keep His promise. Titus 1:2, “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” The Lord cannot lie. John 14:2, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” The Lord said what He meant, and meant what He said!

The lord promises in John 6:37 that anyone, that means ANYBODY, who comes to Him will not be turned away. Jesus didn't stipulate any exclusions. The Lord didn't say that He would not receive homosexuals. The Lord didn't say that He would not receive women who've had abortions. The Lord didn't make a list of people who don't qualify to come to Him. Anyone may come to Jesus!

Jesus didn't say that He'd only receive people who've made a commitment to Him, forsaken the world or departed from a past life of sin. No, rather, Jesus didn't place any exclusions, limitations or restrictions on coming. Clearly, the Lord said, “HIM THAT COMETH TO ME I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT”! Jesus DIDN'T say that He would only receive people who've forsaken their sinful lifestyle. The Bible doesn't say that. Rather, we are told in God's inspired Word that the Lord will NOT CAST AWAY anyone who comes to Him for salvation. John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

Jesus said in John 5:40, “And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” Jesus DIDN'T say “YE CANNOT COME”; but rather, “YE WILL NOT COME.” The Scriptures plainly tell us why they wouldn't come to Jesus to be saved. John 3:20, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” These Bible verses are completely ignored by those who propagate the heresy of Lordship Salvation. The Bible teaches that unrepentant sinners WON'T come to the Lord.

Thus, if a person sincerely comes to Jesus to be saved, even if they have no intentions of ceasing from a life of sin, Christ will save them as He PROMISED. The very fact that they are coming to Christ to be saved is clear evidence of some degree of repentance in their heart. A person comes to Christ because they have had “a change of mind,” which is Biblical repentance.

How dare anyone teach sinners who come for salvation that JESUS WILL CAST THEM AWAY if they refuse to cease from personal sins, fail to leave the world and don't believe TO THE POINT of being willing to depart from a past lifestyle of sin. These are lies of the Devil. The Lord PROMISED I will “in no wise.” This phrase comes from the Greek word oume, which means, “a double negative strengthening the denial; not at all: - any more, at all, by any (no) means, neither, never, no (at all), in no case (wise), nor ever, not (at all, in any wise).”

You gotta love those DOUBLE NEGATIVES!!! The Lord said He will never, no not ever, never, cast anyone away who comes to Him by faith to be saved. Coming to the Lord is faith! The Greek word for “cast” is ekballo and means “eject (literally or figuratively): - bring forth, cast (forth, out), drive (out), expel, leave, pluck (pull, take, thrust) out, put forth (out), send away (forth, out).” Hence, the Lord will never, no not ever, eject anyone who comes to Him to be saved. Isn't that beautiful?

Woe unto the false teachers corrupting our churches today who falsely claim that the Lord casts away those who come to him to be saved, because they still have sins in their life that they aren't ready to give up. The Bible teaches that if a person wants to be saved and has enough faith to come to Christ, it is because they have repented in their mind. A person can repent in their mind despite the fact that there may still be deliberate sins in that person's life (which they aren't willing to forsake).

Who are we to judge whether or not someone is saved or not just because they're not as perfect as we think they should be? Who are we to judge others because they sin differently than we do? There's no way you can tell how much gas is in a car's fuel tank by the sound of the horn. Likewise, you cannot tell if a person is saved or not by the manner of life which they live. Only by the direct testimony of their mouth concerning the gospel of Jesus Christ can we determine for certain if a person is saved or not.

Again, if a person sincerely comes to Jesus to be saved, even if they have no intentions of ceasing from a life of sin, Christ will save them as He PROMISED. The very fact that they are coming to Christ to be saved is clear evidence of some degree of repentance in their heart. A person comes to Christ because they have had “a change of mind,” which is Biblical repentance. The desire to depart from sin is a fruit of the Spirit which only comes AFTER a person is in Christ (saved).

Dr. Rice rightly states in his excellent book, “Dr. Rice... Here is My Question...

When you get saved, you get saved not because you deserve it, but because you simply let God save you and because you confess your own poor sinful state and your inability to save yourself.

I couldn't agree more. This is what the Bible teaches. Dr. Rice eloquently states in his gospel tract, “What Must I Do To Be Saved”...

“The change in your heart, sinner, is God's part and you may be sure He will attend to that. Your part is to simply believe in Him. Whatever else is necessary in your eternal salvation, the Lord attends to when you trust in Him, or believe in Him.”

Amen! Dr. Rice is correct. Who are we to judge whether or not a person is sincere. There's a self-righteous group today in our churches, who demand a changed-life as a prerequisite for salvation. This is unbiblical, a heresy, and a perversion of the simple Gospel of Christ Jesus. The thing to do is to take for granted that people are saved when they simply trust Jesus Christ for salvation.

Please read Dr. John R. Rice's rebuttal of judging another person's salvation on the basis of how they live. I agree wholeheartedly with Brother Rice on this matter.

The plain and simple truth of God's Word is that the Lord PROMISED never to cast away, no not in any wise, ANYONE who sincerely comes to Him to be saved. John 6:37, “...him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT!

They Knew Not Until The Flood Came

Luke 17:26-27, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.”
